Ashley Monroe

Ashley Monroe is an American country music artist and singer. After releasing two singles and an album entitled Satisfied in 2007 she formed a band named Pistol Annies with Angaleena Presley as well as Miranda Lambert and released her 2nd album called Like a Rose in 2013. Ashley Monroe, Assistant Village Manager of the village of Riverside Illinois has more than 15 years of experience working in the private sector. She spent nearly five years working in Iowa City as the Deputy City Manager. As the Assistant Village Manager she is currently responsible for managing the Community Development and Building Department and the completion of projects. The role of Ashley at Riverside is to assist with the day-to-day operation of village services and implement the vision for strategic planning set out by the elected officials. Prior roles include municipal planning government communications budgeting staff management, collective bargaining, with a focus on climate change initiatives. Through her involvement in national organizations and work in communities with diverse populations, Ashley has gained an understanding of the complexities differences and similarities with the way public institutions work. Ashley's courses concentrate on public leadership and management from the perspective of a practitioner with experience. She focuses on the need to adapt ethical and strategic making to the needs that we face today, and on how to navigate relationships between government and communities offers context and direction to professionals within public organizations.
